Democracy in Drag

Big victory for traditional marriage in Maine

Democracy has voted in 31 States and all 31 States have voted to support traditional marriage.

With ultra-liberal Maine making it the 31st State.

Even if the other 19 States never allow their citizens a straight up or down vote on the issue, 31 is a clear majority of 50.

Democracy has spoken!!!

A majority... naw... a super majority!, wants government to keep their hands off marriage.

Now our leaders know how we really feel and will give up all attempts at imposing homosexuality upon America, and support loving supportive families, right?

Right? -- reality is that - no they will not!

Now that the media-Scribes know how strongly Americans feel about their traditional marriages, the media-Scribes will support Christian marriage over homosexuality.

Right? -- reality is that -- no they will not!

Democracy is not what it's cracked up to be

State legislatures vote for President

Back in the bad old days, State legislatures selected the President in the electoral college.

That was bad, so we insisted on the right to vote for our electoral college representative.

But back in the bad old days we never had Bushs and Obamas. Instead, we had George Washingtons, Thomas Jeffersons, and Andrew Jacksons.

State Legislatures vote for U.S. Senators

Back in the bad old days, State legislatures appointed the two United State Senators which represented their State, and they had a real veto over federal laws, treaties, judicial appointments, and cabinet appointments.

That was bad, so we insisted upon a 17th Amendment, allowing us the right to select the Senators.

But back in the bad old days, we had much better Senators.

And back in the bad old days, we did not have to worry about our marriages.

We did not have to worry about child protective services overriding all our most precious Constitutional rights over our most prised possession, our kids.

We did not worry about government much at all. It just operated like McDonald's. You could always count on it and it gave the same good services day in and day out.

For an explanation of what had changed, see the two documents below.
