Celebrating Jesus' 'Condescension'

Joseph Farah of WorldNetDaily has recently given much space to the blasphemous views of Richard Rives who has been calling Christians to be pagan sun worshippers.

This is my reply letter to Richard Rives.

Richard Rives,

You are one fraudulent, soothsaying, bastard!

I feel myself being dug deeper and deeper into the satanic quagmire you are digging for simple-minded Christians, when you say that Christmas is really the celebration of Roman pagan god Sol Invictus.

In other words, you are blasphemously calling Christians to be pagan sun worshippers.

I am already anticipating your retort to Pope Benedict that March 25th, the day of Mary's fertility, is really the day celebrated by pagans as dedicated to the fertility gods, further proving your point that the Pope is the "Whore of Babylon".

And again you will be blasphemously accussing Christians of being pagan worshippers of fertility goddesses.
Pope Benedict XVI [has] challenged this theory by arguing that a December 25 date was determined simply by calculating nine months beyond March 25, regarded as the day of Jesus’ conception (the Feast of the Annunciation)

Then it struck me what the error of your message is.

Your problem is that you say that "the Christians chose those days, based upon pagan worship", but you do not dig deeper to see that "the pagans had chosen those dates based upon nature."

The Sun Worshiping Pagans chose Dec. 25th because it is the Winter Solstice, the "birth" of the new sun gaining in length and strength for the next 6 months.

The Fertility Worshiping Pagans chose March 25th because it is the Vernal Equinox, the mark of springtime and the new fertility of plants.

Your problem with December 25th is that you believe every Christian is still worshiping a Sun god.

I can assure you Mr. Rives that the Pope knows that the Sun is just a big ball of hot gas -- somewhat like you.

What you ignore is the fact that God created the sun.
"Then God said, "Let there be light, and there was light." Genesis 1:3

To be sure, your problem with March 25th, will be that you think Christians are still making sacrifices to fertility goddesses.

Once again, you will find no quote from any Pope throughout history saying that there is a fertility goddess, nor will you find that Emperor Constantine, once converted to Christianity, believed in a fertility goddess.

But you do not recognize that the fertility of the plants is caused by God, as was the fertility of Mary.
Then God said, "Let the Earth bring forth vegetation: every form of plant that bears seed and every kind of fruit tree that bears fruit with its seed in it" -- Genesis 1:11

Who in the hell are you Mr. Rives to tell Christians that they cannot take back possession, from the pagans, that which belongs to God, the sun which our God has created for mankind to give us warmth, or to take back possession, from the pagans, that which belongs to God, the fertility of the land which God has supplied for man's sustenance?

Who in the hell are you to tell Christians that God himself did not pick those two days, which he had specially created himself, to also bring forth his Son?

Pope Leo I (the Great) -- 5th Century

Having therefore so confident a hope, dearly beloved, abide firm in the Faith in which you are built: lest that same tempter whose tyranny over you, Christ has already destroyed, win you back again with any of his wiles, and mar even the joys of the present festival by his deceitful art, misleading simpler souls with the pestilential notion of some to whom this our solemn feast day seems to derive its honour, not so much from the nativity of Christ as, according to them, from the rising of the new sun.

Such men's hearts are wrapped in total darkness, and have no growing perception of the true Light: for they are still drawn away by the foolish errors of heathendom, and because they cannot lift the eyes of their mind above that which their carnal sight beholds, they pay divine honour to the luminaries that minister to the world.
